Wallows Returns with “I Don’t Want to Talk”

Los Angeles-based trio, Wallows, are back with yet another track that is sure to please old and new fans alike.

“I Don’t Want to Talk” released this past week and is the band’s first release since the Remote (Deluxe) EP was released earlier this year in February.

Much like Remote (Deluxe), Wallows pushes its sound to greater horizons in “I Don’t Want to Talk,” all while staying true to the band’s creative path.

With grand harmonica pieces throughout the track, accompanied by fun whistling, there is something almost nostalgic to the song that makes it so the listener can’t help but want to dance along. However, the meaning of the song might not be as lighthearted.

“’I Don’t Want to Talk’ is ultimately a song about insecurities. Not only in yourself, but in this case, particularly in a relationship,” Dylan Minnette, guitarist and vocalist, said. “It centers around the fear of being away from someone for too long and that ultimately allowing the other person’s head to be turned by someone else, and instead of expressing those fears, completely shutting down and not wanting to talk about it at all.”

Much like the single, the music video that accompanies it is just as fun and entertaining. In true Wallows fashion it is aesthetically pleasing, playful and truly unique. It could even be argued that “I Don’t Want to Talk” is a culmination of everything Wallows has showcased over the years.

Simply put, “I Don’t Want to Talk” is Wallows doing what they do best - creating fun music that never goes stale. It is an exciting look into what is to come from the group in the near future.

“I Don’t Want to Talk” can now be streamed everywhere. Wallows also announced the first leg of its 2022 North American tour, and more details can be found at wallowsmusic.com/tour.
