The latest single “Something To Care About” from emerging British singer-songwriter Roman Lewis is out now via Bright Antenna Records. Listen here.

Of the song, Lewis says: “When you’re in love for the first time, nothing else matters, at least that’s how it was for me. I got so sucked up that it was all I cared about and after it ended I felt like I didn’t have anything anymore. This song ended up capturing one of the most beautiful moments of my life because after it, I saw with complete clarity. I started caring about everything that’s important to me, not just hanging on to a feeling. This song is a turning point, the end of one path and the start of another.”

With a gentle yet strong voice, Roman sets the tone for a feeling we’re all familiar with  - transformation.

Starting with self reflection on a recent love, the track moves us through the process of what it can be like to not only sit with your feelings, but face them head on. When you are becoming aware of the time and energy you put into one person, your doubts about how you shared yourself with them come up behind you. Sometime it’s unavoidable that you start replaying moments spent together.

Often, you think about how things could’ve gone and you wonder if you shouldn’t have done this or said that. Once you’re no longer an active part of the situation, you get ahold of the big picture.

“you’ve burnt me out, its coming clear, i was never something you cared about”  (-Something To Care About)

Sometimes you realize that this sudden loss is to help open your eyes to what we have in life - the things we have set in stone.

“But I know all these things, I know these things so well. I guess i just need reminding of them sometimes”

(-something to care about)

Through Roman’s latest single, he shares that this feeling of loss- mixed with an eagerness to move on- is something we tend to avoid. This track is a reminder that there’s more to life than what is happening at this moment.  Theres more time for knowing and loving yourself, creating memories that will always bring happiness back to you, and doing what lights your heart on fire. You’ve just got to take the move.

ABOUT

In a world inundated with singer-songwriters, Roman Lewis, at just 18 years-old, figured out how to do something very few do - be himself. His feverish youth, animated delivery, and unambiguous passion shines through on every verse, and his songwriting, sometimes inspired by 18th Century poetry, is rich beyond his years.

Roman’s debut project “Heartbreak (for now)” - released January 2019 via Bright Antenna Records - has quickly gained traction all over the world, and for good reason. He is tapped into the mindset of the new generation because it’s his own. No doubt that within a few years Roman will be at the helm of a brand new generation of singer-songwriters capturing the hearts of anyone with two ears and a soul.

Based in London, Roman draws inspiration from 18th Century poetry, which is quite the anomaly for someone just 18 years old. He carries a young Francophile’s sense of romance and a wide-eyed sense of wonder, but already a heaviness of heart too. Studying in French until the age of fourteen, and fluent in the language he adores, there’s a notable joie de vivre that enriches his unhinged and wild vocals.
